Federal Skilled Worker Program

Overview.

You can be eligible for permanent residency in Canada if you are a skilled worker. This programme is designed for foreign workers who want to emigrate permanently to Canada. This is one of the three federal programmes run by Express Entry.

Minimum Requirements

  • The candidate must have at least 1 years of continuous full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work experience) in NOC 0, A or B within the 10 years.
  • The candidate demonstrates sufficient proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages. The level of proficiency required is determined by the occupation in which the candidate gained qualifying Canadian work experience.
  • Score sufficient points under the skilled worker point grid comprising of six selection factors. The current pass mark is 67 points.
  • The candidate must be admissible to Canada on medical, criminal or security grounds.
  • You must plan to live outside the province of Quebec. The province of Quebec selects its own skilled workers.
